Why did you become a DJ?

To have fun and pay my way through college.

What’s your favorite part about working for Kramer Events?

Seeing an event reach it’s potential. Seeing the kind words left by our customers on the review sites. Seeing our team continue to push each other to raise the bar.

What’s your favorite song to hear/play at a wedding and why?

The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. It pulls everybody in, both young and old, and sets a classy mood. You can slow dance or swing to it. It paves the way to really kick off dancing.

What should every couple know before meeting with their wedding DJ?

Know what you want out of your wedding. Whether it’s classy, casual, kid-friendly, adults only, crazy party or romantic dinner party. Let your DJ know and they can help shape it to meet your vision.

What general advice would you give a couple preparing for their wedding?

Have fun. Prepare ahead of time so you can live in the moment and enjoy the brief 6 hours you get to spend with the 100 closest people in your life.

Describe your DJ Style?

My approach to an event is to help make it feel organic.  If we are prepared and organized the wedding can flow smoothly with all events seemingly happening organically at the right time.  I’m constantly reading the crowd and I can tell when it’s time to move on.  My client’s vision shapes everything.  It drives all of my decision making for the day.
I’m on the Mic only enough to make sure the guests understand what’s going on and then turn the attention back to the event.  When I’m on the Mic I’m concise and classy yet upbeat.  You won’t ever hear me do a stand-up routine or telling jokes.  While I can handle the spotlight and confidently direct your guests, I’m definitely not the stereotypical egotistical DJ.
I love variety.  My favorite events are when I get all ages and get to weave in all music eras together.  Starting with older music and seamlessly bringing in the current hits and getting all age groups on the floor together.  I love the art of mixing and love beat-mixing the songs together so you almost don’t realize that you are dancing to a new song.  I’ve worked several different clubs before making weddings my focus.
