Lathan Ford

Meet Lathan, Operations Leader at Kramer Events.  Currently living in Paso he’s married to his wonderful wife, Jackie, he’s a self-admitted beer snob and loves photography.  In fact, he’s a professional wedding photographer in addition to being a trained EMT.  But more importantly, he’s now a critical part of our Kramer Team.

 
Part of the magic behind Kramer Events is how our different departments work together on events to bring out the best in each other’s craft.  Lathan is the organizer of that magic.  As Operations Leader he ensures our team works well together and helps push us to raise the bar.  Even though he’s only been with us a short time, he is already pushing us to step up our game in all departments.
 

I have a ton of respect for his calm and thoughtful leadership style.  We’re lucky to have a person like him help lead our team.

Vanessa Robbins

Long overdue, Meet Vanessa, the head of our marketing efforts and the editor of our monthly newsletter.  

Vanessa, or as we call her, V, came to us less than a year ago but has been a huge part of our office team.  She’s brought a new sense of style and fashion to the upstairs Kramer Office.  Born and raised locally she now lives in Grover Beach and is engaged to her Fiancé Shonda.  So she understands the wedding industry.
 
You’ll mostly only see her if you visit the office.  She’s the one helping showcase our partner venues on our find a venue page.  She’s also creating all of our social media content and managing our media from our photography and video divisions. Probably the most organized person in the building she helps the rest of us stay on track.  She often helps me by taking things off my plate!
 
But, from time to time on busy weekends, you’ll also see her in the field helping run a photo booth or assisting one of our coordinators.
 
We knew from the minute we hired her that we were lucky to have her.  We’re excited to have her on our Kramer Team to help tell our story.

Amy Hinrichs

Meet Amy Hinrichs, one of our 2 event consultants here at Kramer.

Most people know Melissa (co-owner and other event consultant), but not everybody’s had the chance to meet her main counterpart… Amy Hinrichs.

Joining us a little over 2 years ago, she’s now a huge part of our office team. When you call the office, Amy’s one of the main people you’ll talk to. And she’s awesome at helping you plan an event and explain all of our Kramer services.

Recently back from Maternity leave, she’s energizing the office once again with her upbeat and fun personality. With her husband and now 2 kids, she calls the central coast home. We’re glad she also calls Kramer Events her home. We are lucky to have her spirit, attitude, and her dance moves onboard the team.

A Christmas Love Story Fit for Disney

Imagine this; it’s Christmas morning and all the usual joy and excitement are in the air as you give and receive gifts surrounded by the ones you love. You’re handed a neatly wrapped package from someone very special to you. Curious as to what this surprise could be, you slowly peel away the wrapping paper to reveal an Amazon box, you open the box and find…a matching set of mickey mouse ears? “Bride and Groom” they read. Stunned and confused you glance up and sitting in front of you is the man that you love, down on one knee and extending a ring. “No way!” Suddenly, Christmas takes on a whole new meaning. “Yes, of course, I will marry you!”

For one lucky girl, this Christmas story became a reality and the lucky guy who proposed to her? Our very own Warehouse Manager and Lead Tech, Paul Escalera! Paul is a huge part of the Kramer team and works diligently to ensure the warehouse is organized and high functioning – no easy feat when you’re talking about thousands of pieces of equipment. We couldn’t be more excited for him and his new fiancé Katie, and the Mickey Mouse ears? Well, they turned out to be a huge piece of the puzzle.

Paul and Katie met in 2014 working together at Disneyland. Their journey of love began on July 27th in Tomorrowland; after some time, they transferred together to Adventureland, but they had no idea that their greatest adventure together was yet to come! After living and working for a year in Anaheim, they moved to San Luis Obispo to be closer to Katie’s hometown of Pismo Beach, and the rest is history! A love story fit for a Disney movie! Congratulations Paul and Katie!

Why did you become a Host MC / DJ? I love weddings!

What’s your favorite part about working for Kramer Events? My favorite things about Kramer are the family in the company, and our ability to make people happy on a big night in their lives.

What’s your favorite song to hear/play at a wedding and why? Any old soul and R&B music. There’s nothing as expressive and emotive.

What general advice would you give a bride preparing for her wedding? Focus on enjoying your night and leave everything to the coordinator and the MC.

What do you think makes the Central Coast an amazing wedding destination? The golden rolling hills, the wine, the food, the clean air, and the high standards of the local wedding industry.
