What’s New with Kramer?
Fellow wedding industry,
Fellow wedding industry,
Who doesn’t love cake?! We sure do! The Kramer Events team has had the pleasure of working with some amazingly talented dessert vendors over the years and we wanted to share some of their goodies with you!
In a previous Kramer Buzz blog post we explored the many ways in which San Luis Obispo County is an ideal location for your Destination Wedding – the beautiful landscapes, amazing food, and diverse culture make the Central Coast a great place to relax and enjoy yourself, and it just so happens to be home to some of the most unique tasting experiences California has to offer.
With over 250 wineries and dozens of craft breweries and Cideries to choose from, planning a tour may feel a bit daunting, but we are here to tell you it doesn’t have to be! When planning your tour, here are a few things to keep in mind.
Whats your taste? Do you like award-winning wines, handcrafted beers, or traditional ciders? – whatever your taste, the Central Coast has something for everyone’s palette.

The great part about planning a Central Coast tasting tour is that you don’t have to choose just one type of tasting, but can mix and match to suit your mood.
What aspects of SLO County do you want to experience?
Think about what your overall hope for the day is; the Central Coast is very diverse and no one area is exactly the same. Do you want to explore the fun-filled college town of San Luis Obispo, breathe in the ocean air on the coast, or experience the rolling hills of wine country?
So whether you want to take it easy as you take in the remarkable beauty the Central Coast has to offer or delve into the history and unique processes’ of each establishment you visit. There are options to suit any agenda but its important to pinpoint what kind of experience you want to have before embarking on your tour.
How do you want to get around? San Luis Obispo County has lots of different options when it comes to professional transportation and many of them specialize in tasting tours. Whether you are a hardcore planner and just need someone to take you where you want to go on your time schedule, or want to sit back and let someone else do all the planning for you, SLO county has options for you.
Regardless of which option you choose, with a little bit of planning – or finding the right people to plan for you – you are sure to have an unforgettable time cruising around the Central Coast getting a taste of all it has to offer!
Imagine this; it’s Christmas morning and all the usual joy and excitement are in the air as you give and receive gifts surrounded by the ones you love. You’re handed a neatly wrapped package from someone very special to you. Curious as to what this surprise could be, you slowly peel away the wrapping paper to reveal an Amazon box, you open the box and find…a matching set of mickey mouse ears? “Bride and Groom” they read. Stunned and confused you glance up and sitting in front of you is the man that you love, down on one knee and extending a ring. “No way!” Suddenly, Christmas takes on a whole new meaning. “Yes, of course, I will marry you!”
For one lucky girl, this Christmas story became a reality and the lucky guy who proposed to her? Our very own Warehouse Manager and Lead Tech, Paul Escalera! Paul is a huge part of the Kramer team and works diligently to ensure the warehouse is organized and high functioning – no easy feat when you’re talking about thousands of pieces of equipment. We couldn’t be more excited for him and his new fiancé Katie, and the Mickey Mouse ears? Well, they turned out to be a huge piece of the puzzle.
Paul and Katie met in 2014 working together at Disneyland. Their journey of love began on July 27th in Tomorrowland; after some time, they transferred together to Adventureland, but they had no idea that their greatest adventure together was yet to come! After living and working for a year in Anaheim, they moved to San Luis Obispo to be closer to Katie’s hometown of Pismo Beach, and the rest is history! A love story fit for a Disney movie! Congratulations Paul and Katie!
What happens when an enchanted garden and soft, pastel colors meet? Alexis and Casey’s wedding at Cambria Pines Lodge happens! The beautiful bride and groom said their I Do’s at this intimate central coast wedding venue located in Cambria, California – a quaint beach town tucked away north of San Luis Obispo. Our photographer was able to effortlessly capture the undeniable connection between these two. By nightfall, the dance floor was packed, sparklers lit the sky and the newlyweds were off as husband and wife.
The central coast was named one of the happiest places on earth for a reason – the coastal beaches, lush landscapes and simply put, the way it makes you feel. Capture all of these moments with none other than a San Luis Obispo based photographer. They’re going to know all of the good spots anyways.

Not only is Lou one of our top Host MCs here at Kramer Events, he’s also in charge of talent development. Lou’s interactive MC style was a welcome addition to our DJ lineup and helps round out your options with our DJs. you’ll see him out on the floor getting grandma out there dancing and getting the party started. His background as a touring drummer and on stage performer has allowed him to develop his own following here at Kramer Events. Very musically talented, he now also teaches drumming to children throughout the Central Coast. He has also been a great mentor for both our MCs and event staff. We are lucky to have a man of his skill and attitude on our team. And very happy to have him in a leadership role here. He has pushed us to step up our performance and I know good things will continue to come from Lou.
Congratulations to our September 2017 team member of the month, Lou Mars!

Chelsea and Stefan chose the beautiful Avila Beach as the set for their engagement shoot with our very own Central Coast wedding photographer, Justin Jacobs. Fast forward to October 2017, the month of their wedding, and you’ll find Chelsea walking down the aisle at See Canyon Fruit Ranch – one of the most romantic Central Coast wedding venues in the San Luis Obispo area.
How did you two meet?
We met in San Luis Obispo, California March 2014, at a mutual friend’s house. We dated for a year and moved to South Carolina and lived there for two years before moving back to the central coast.
What is the most memorable date you guys have been on since being together?
Chelsea: Our most memorable date we have had together has got to be our first date when we went to Eureka Burger. We didn’t know a thing about each other and it was a lot of fun laughing and talking so effortlessly.
Stefan: Our first date was our most memorable date when we ate at Eureka Burger.
How did you know Chelsea/Stefan was “The One?”
Chelsea: I knew Stefan was the one when we went to Six Flags together after a few months of dating and rode every single rollercoaster twice, until we got sick. We were driving back from LA (3 hour drive) and I realized this guy was the most genuine person I’d ever met.
Stefan: I knew she was the one when we I could look her in the eyes and not shy away. She not only accepted my quirky personality traits but started to embrace them.
Any piece of advice you can give to engaged couples?
Always talk. Keep communication alive and well. Never go to bed angry and always try for a better life! That’s what it’s all about.
Whether your photoshoot takes you to a rustic vineyard in Paso Robles or shoots you out to a remote nook in Edna Valley – ask any Central Coast wedding photographer and they will tell you the possibilities are endless. The Central Coast wedding venues that scatter the area are some of the most breathtaking venues you will find in California. I think it’s safe to say that your photos will be leaving you with more than just 1,000 words!

Part of our mission is to raise the public’s expectation of event professionals. A key component to achieve this is continuing education.
Since our DJ division is still a large part of our business, Melissa, Pearce and I set off to our annual trip to the largest DJ convention in America, the Mobile Beat convention in Las Vegas. It’s always a great show where we get to learn from industry experts, demo the latest gear, and see our colleagues and mentors from around the globe. This year was great and we brought back a ton of things we will be sharing with our team, our industry, and our clients.
I was honored to be on a panel discussion hosted by QSC, the leading speaker manufacturer, to share some our our knowledge with peers from the industry. I’m always excited to give back and help others as others have helped us get where we are today. It’s exciting to see the excitement in the eyes of others just starting their journey and ready to grow their business. I am excited to announce that QSC has selected us to be an industry expert blogger on their site. We will continue to give back to our industry in any way we can.
All in all a great trip and the Kramer Crew will keep going back each year. Education is everything!
