Team Member of the Month: Lou Mars, September 2017

Meet Lou

Not only is Lou one of our top Host MCs here at Kramer Events, he’s also in charge of talent development.  Lou’s interactive MC style was a welcome addition to our DJ lineup and helps round out your options with our DJs.  you’ll see him out on the floor getting grandma out there dancing and getting the party started.  His background as a touring drummer and on stage performer has allowed him to develop his own following here at Kramer Events.  Very musically talented, he now also teaches drumming to children throughout the Central Coast.  He has also been a great mentor for both our MCs and event staff.  We are lucky to have a man of his skill and attitude on our team.  And very happy to have him in a leadership role here.  He has pushed us to step up our performance and I know good things will continue to come from Lou.

And in a few weeks he’ll be going for a drumming marathon world record in Portugal.

Local news station KSBY 6 met up with Lou to hear first hand about the amazing event he’s about to partake in.

Congratulations to our September 2017 team member of the month, Lou Mars!

Engagement Shoot: Chelsea and Stefan’s Story

Chelsea and Stefan chose the beautiful Avila Beach as the set for their engagement shoot with our very own Central Coast wedding photographer, Justin Jacobs. Fast forward to October 2017, the month of their wedding, and you’ll find Chelsea walking down the aisle at See Canyon Fruit Ranch  – one of the most romantic Central Coast wedding venues in the San Luis Obispo area.

How did you two meet?

We met in San Luis Obispo, California March 2014, at a mutual friend’s house. We dated for a year and moved to South Carolina and lived there for two years before moving back to the central coast.

What is the most memorable date you guys have been on since being together?

Chelsea: Our most memorable date we have had together has got to be our first date when we went to Eureka Burger. We didn’t know a thing about each other and it was a lot of fun laughing and talking so effortlessly.

Stefan: Our first date was our most memorable date when we ate at Eureka Burger.

How did you know Chelsea/Stefan was “The One?”

Chelsea: I knew Stefan was the one when we went to Six Flags together after a few months of dating and rode every single rollercoaster twice, until we got sick. We were driving back from LA (3 hour drive) and I realized this guy was the most genuine person I’d ever met.

Stefan: I knew she was the one when we I could look her in the eyes and not shy away. She not only accepted my quirky personality traits but started to embrace them.

Any piece of advice you can give to engaged couples?

Always talk. Keep communication alive and well. Never go to bed angry and always try for a better life! That’s what it’s all about.

Whether your photoshoot takes you to a rustic vineyard in Paso Robles or shoots you out to a remote nook in Edna Valley – ask any Central Coast wedding photographer and they will tell you the possibilities are endless. The Central Coast wedding venues that scatter the area are some of the most breathtaking venues you will find in California. I think it’s safe to say that your photos will be leaving you with more than just 1,000 words!

Team Member of the Month: Julian Maze, August 2017

Meet Julian

Or as we know him here “The Boy Wonder.”  Julian is one of the hardest working team members we’ve ever had.  Which is why we’ve chosen him for our inaugural team member of the month recognition at Kramer Events.

At only 17 years old when he joined us over a year ago, he took on a lead role showing the maturity and leadership decades beyond his age.  Julian does the right thing every time, even when no ones watching.  He’s a true leader in the making and has been a fantastic team member at Kramer Events.

You may have seen him at events leading complicated lighting setups, running a photo booth, running our audio systems, or just plain hustling.  It’s seldom when we find someone at such a young age to take on so much with us.

It’s with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to him as he begins his college career at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego later this month.  We are excited for him, but will miss him and the attitude he brought.  You are an exceptional member to our Kramer Team Julian, good luck on your next adventure!

Take a peek at this year’s highlights!

The evening began with a bubbles and cheese party in the stunning stables at Greengate Ranch. Once a horse barn; the stables have been renovated and are ready for intimate dinners, cocktail receptions, and ceremonies. Guests were treated to welcome glasses of Sparkling Wine by neighbor, Biddle Ranch Vineyard. The bottles housed in a rustic barrel wine chiller by All About Events, and surrounded by floral ice cubes by Noonan’s Wine Country Designs. Guests milled about concept tables designed by Brooke Johnson of All About Events; listened to the sounds of Kramer Events’s live musician, Matt Cross; and were treated to a delicious (and beautiful!) charcuterie board by Ribline Catering, under chandeliers by Kramer Events. The board featured selections by Fromagerie Sophie, Catteneo Bros., and local fruits.

Guests then meandered down to the Vintage Barn and Courtyard for an evening of networking, eating, drinking, and dancing! The team at All About Events showcased their new clear top jumbo track tent, draped elegantly by Flowers by Kim, and furnished beautifully by Greer Woodruff of Scout Rental Co.. Luxe Linen’s 2016 and 2017 linen line were showcased as well, brilliantly by Brooke Johnson of All About Events, and highlighted the rental companies gorgeous offerings- including their new rose gold line and floral centerpieces by Noonan’s Wine Country Designs!

Sidecar Cocktail Co. displayed their Tinkertin Trailer Mobile Bar and shook up cocktails for the crowd, showcasing their popular drinks, ‘The Cure” and “My Hips don’t Lie”. Guests were treated to a fantastic display of food by Ribline Catering with stations providing hand carved sliders, salads, a Mac & Cheese Bar (a hit!), hand passed black truffle oysters, and their popular beach balls appetizer. For those with a sweet tooth, Ribline Catering displayed their baking prowess and introduced their new dessert offerings and cakes for 2017 weddings and events!

Guests partied and networked into the night with Kramer Events’s Silent Disco Party featuring Dueling DJ’s Conor and Lou, who put on quite a show! (Costume changes, drums kits and all!) Kramer Events also debuted their new massive Disco Ball, interactive green screen photo booth and light wall, which made quite the dramatic entrance and exit- and is available now for this season’s events.

VI Preview will return in 2018, don’t miss out!

Congratulations Brian & Amber!

We had an amazing time being apart of the first ever Finally I Do Wedding in San Luis Obispo! Brian and Amber were voted on by their community to receive a completely free wedding from participating wedding vendors. Their love story captured the heart of all of us and their undying love was evident from the moment they stepped into our office.

“Amber teaches seven art classes at Templeton High School and dedicates countless hours before, after school, and on weekends, mentoring her students. Amber started the student Art Club, served as the Assistant Activities Director /ASB advisor, and doubled the participation in the California Scholarship Federation club which emphasizes students serving their community. Brian is a Volunteer Firefighter with SLO County Fire and is the Training Officer for his station. In the role of Training Officer, Brian is also a mentor to new recruits, many of whom are students straight out of high school still trying to decide their paths in life. Instead of spending hours volunteering as mentors and roles models, Brian and Amber could take on second jobs to help save for their wedding. But the couple says they’re not interested in giving up their passion for helping and guiding others, simply to spend more money and energy on themselves. They were nominated by a former student and fire academy trainee.”
